Lahiru Kumara: Tearaway paceman made Test debut at 19
Lahiru Kumara was born on February 13, 1997 in Kandy.
He is a right arm fast bowler who first made his appearance for Sri Lanka Under 19s in the 2016 World Cup. He made a splash on the Under 19 Tour to England in 2016 with several good bowling performances including a match bag of 11-134 at Northampton in the junior Test against England.
Kumara was selected on the senior tour to Zimbabwe and made his international debut at the age of 19 when he was selected in the first Test in Harare in Oct 2016.
He made a significant dent into the strong South African batting line up taking 6 wickets in the first innings when selected in the 2nd Test at Cape Town in Jan 2017. He clocked in excess of 145kms and knocked over Hashim Amla's middle stump with a quick in dipping delivery
