1998 ICC Champions Trophy: Kallis stars as South Africa win first gong

All of the matches in the inaugural ICC Champions Trophy (the 1998 ICC Wills Knock Out) were played in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The tournament started with a preliminary match between New Zealand and Zimbabwe to decide which would proceed to the Quarter Finals.

The 1998 Champions Trophy was won by South Africa, who beat West Indies in the final. Jacques Kallis starred with 5-30 to take out the man of the match award. This win remains South Africa's only ever success at a major tournament.
