Ajantha Mendis bamboozles Proteas

Ajantha Mendis mesmerized South Africa's top order as he took 3-30 to spin Sri Lanka to a 55 run victory in the rainshortened Champions Trophy opener. In his first ever match against the Proteas mystery spinner Ajantha Mendis sent them packing by dismissing Graeme Smith first ball and then Jacques Kallis and J.P. Duminy as the fancied home team slumped to 7206 before rain stopped play to hand Sri Lanka a thumping win. Angelo Mathews took a stunning catch to account for Kallis.
