Australia crush England after sizzling Head century: 1st ODI (Trent Bridge)

Opener Travis Head smashed an unbeaten 154 as Australia claimed a convincing seven-wicket win over England in the first ODI at Trent Bridge.

Head was at his best as he and Marnus Labuschagne (77 not out) posted an unbroken match-winning partnership of 148.

Earlier, Ben Duckett struck 95 but England collapsed from 213-2 to 315 all out. Jacob Bethell hit a handy 35 to take the home side beyond 300. Labuschagne enjoyed an excellent allround display in the match as he took 3 for 39, as well as four catches.

Australia, set 316 for victory, finished on 317-3 with six overs to spare. Australia 317 for 3 (Head 154*, Labuschagne 77*) beat England 315 (Duckett 95, Labuschagne 3-39, Zampa 3-49) by seven wickets.
