Debutant Atkinson’s 7-45 steals Anderson show: 1st Test, Day 1 (Lords)

James Anderson’s final appearance in Test cricket was overshadowed by fiery paceman Gus Atkinson who was making his Test debut as England dominated the West Indies in the series opener.

Anderson, making his 187th and final Test appearance, received a huge ovation from a packed Lord's. He opened the bowling but managed to take only one wicket as the Windies collapsed in good bowling conditons. Meanwhile Atkinson went on to take 7-45 as West Indies were bowled out for 121.

England reached 189-3 at the close with Zak Crawley and Ollie Pope making half-centuries.

England 189 for 3 (Crawley 76, Pope 57) lead West Indies 121 (Atkinson 7-45) by 68 runs.
