Johnson draws blood, breaks bones (Durban)

On a fiery day Mitchell Johnson broke Graeme Smith's hand and hit Jacques Kallis on the jaw injuries that confined the Proteas skipper to taking no further part in the series and required Kallis to have stiches.

Shades of the great Jeff Thomson at his fastest.

Former Aussie legspinner Stuart Macgill analyses the stunning spell from the left arm Johnson and also comments on Dale Steyn's fine spell earlier on to clock Hussey on the head.

2nd Test Durban Mar 2009.

Mitch Johnson is the most fearsome bowler in world cricket. His new inswinging ball leaves no room for the batsmen to sway away.

This is how cricket should be played. Blood and broken bones. Johnson was scary at his best.
