King has Windies on top in opener: 1st T20 (Kingston)

Acting skipper Brandon King led from the front as the West Indies outplayed South Africa by 28 runs in the first of the three T20I series ahead of the much anticipated T20 World Cup that starts next month.

King smashed a 45 ball 79, propelling West Indies to a total of 175 for 8.

In reply, the Proteas struggled to build momentum, managing just 77 runs in the first 10 overs before losing wickets at regular intervals. They finished at 147 all out thanks to Hendricks who posted 87.

West Indies 175 for 8 (King 79, Baartman 3-26, Phehlukwayo 3-28) beat South Africa 147 (Hendricks 87, Motie 3-25, Forde 3-27) by 28 runs.
