Its amazing to see that even the great Murali was overshadowed perhaps for the only time in his career by another spinner. Mendis was magical, but will need to get wickets when the batsmen have worked out his mystery.

Mendis with 26 wickets in the series now has the best returns for a bowler in a three match-debut series, beating Alec Bedser's record by two.
Most wickets in a 3 match test series is held by GA Lohmann who took 35 wickets for England v SA in South Africa a long time ago in 1895/96

This new guy Mendis makes even Murali look an easier prospect to face. What a find by the Sri Lankans. 26 wickets in a debut series. Is this a record?

The Sri Lankans deserved their win. Mendis is a very good find.
