Not out: Why Bairstow was not caught (Mumbai)

Jonny Bairstow was dismissed in the final over before lunch but was not out as per the laws of cricket.

Bairstow played against the turn and the ball went to Gambhir at silly point, struck the fielder's hand and hit his helmet's grill before being caught.

England coach Andy Flower appealed to the Indian's to withdraw the appeal during the lunch break to no avail.
