Wellalage knocks over India for first series win in 27 years: 3rd ODI (RPS)
Dunith Wellalage took 5-27 as Sri Lanka clinched a first ODI series victory over India in 27 years with a 110-run thrashing of the tourists.
Openers Pathum Nissanka (45) and Avishka Fernando (96) gave Sri Lanka a strong start by adding 89 runs for the first wicket. Kusal Mendis (59) took Sri Lanka to a fighting total of 248 for 7.
India never built any momentum losing their two most experienced batsmen in skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli early. India folded for a disappointing 138 in 26.1 overs after Wellalage spun his magic.
Sri Lanka 248 for 7 (Avishka 96, Mendis 59, Parag 3-54) beat India 138 (Rohit 35, Wellalage 5-27) by 110 runs.
