Billy Stanlake was born on November 4, 1994. Standing 6 foot 8 inches (204cm) he surpassed Bruce Reid as Australia's tallest ever player.
Stanlake bowls right arm fast medium. He was unlucky to breakdown in the 2012 Under-19 World Cup with a foot injury. In the 2014 Under 19 World Cup, he took five wickets in four matches and was top of Australia's bowling averages with 19.40.
He made his first class debut in 2015. He caught the eye of the national selectors with a strong showing in the 2016/17 Big Bash League where he pushed upto speeds of 150kms.
Stanlake made his international debut when he was selected in the first ODI against Pakistan at the Gabba in Jan 2017
