Brad Haddin: The long wait is over

A leg injury has cost Matt Hayden a spot in the first Test against the Windies but wicketkeeper Brad Haddin will become the 400th test player for Australia as he replaces the now retired Adam Gilchrist. Sabina Park 1st Test May 2008.

Yes, he did well to resist playing in the IPL. If a keeper misses a game due to injury, the backup can easily perform and cement a spot in a transition period like now, after Gilly.

It was a good move by Haddin to sit out the IPL. Imagine if he got injured and missed his test debut after waiting for 7 years for Gilly to retire.
