DIckwella falls short as Anderson takes six: 2nd Test, Day 2 (Galle)

Wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella missed out on his maiden ton as James Anderson took 6-40 - his 30th Test five-wicket haul.

England bowled their hosts out for 381.

Anderson dismissed Angelo Mathews for 110 but Sri Lanka eked out a good score from 243-6, Niroshan Dickwella making 92 and Dilruwan Perera 67.

England lost 2 early wickets but Joe Root stroked  67 not out to keep the Sri Lankan spinners at bay.

England 98 for 2 (Root 67*, Bairstow 24*) trail Sri Lanka 381 (Mathews 110, Dickwella 92, Dilruwan 67, Chandimal 52, Anderson 6-40) by 283 runs.
