India win super over tie after SL collapse: 3rd T20 (Pallekele)

India won a thrilling super over against Sri Lanka to clinch the three T20I-match series against Sri Lanka by 3-0.

India were down and almost out but Rinku Singh and Suryakumar Yadav stunned the hosts with two wickets each in the final two overs to force a Super Over. Kusal Perera (46) was the pivotal dismissal, when Sri Lanka needed just nine runs from 12 balls.

Earlier, Shubman Gill played a breezy knock of 39 (37 balls) to provide momentary respite for the team after an early collapse. Washington Sundar added 25 off 18 to add impetus to the Indian innings as they finished with a total of 137/9.

India 137 for 9 (Gill 39, Parag 26, Theekshana 3-28, Hasaranga 2-29) tied with Sri Lanka 137 for 8 (Perera 46, Kusal Mendis 43, Rinku 2-3, Suryakumar 2-5) India won by the Super Over tie-breaker method.
