Jack Hobbs: the legend of the professionals Master

Sir John "Jack" Berry Hobbs born 16 December 1882 died 21 December 1963 was arguably the finest English cricketer.

Renowned as a very modest and selfeffacing man he was popularly referred to as "The Master". He played 61 tests between 1908 and 1930 scoring 5410 runs at 56.98 whilst forming a famous opening partnership with Herbert Sutclife.

He also scored more first class runs 61760 and more first class centuries 197 than anyone else in history. ESPN Legends series.
