Mitchell Johnson made his Test debut for Australia in November 2007 and retired 8 years later in November 2015.
At times, he was considered as one of the fastest bowlers in the world. His destructive bowling against England and South Africa in the summer of 2013-14 was as a compelling a sight since the Windies in the 1980s.
Johnson also roughed up the South African's in a torrid away series that Australia won in 2014.
For a fast bowler, Johnson was a shy and sensitive man. He was a marked man during the 2009 Ashes series in England and performed poorly amidst constant abuse from the Barmy Army.
Johnson retired as Australia’s fourth-highest Test wicket taker with a tally of 313 in 73 Tests with a best of 8/61. He also scored 2065 runs with a highest of 123 not out against South Africa in the 3rd Test at Cape Town in 2009.
