Rahmat breaks record with double century: 1st Test, Day 3 (Bulawayo)

Rahmat Shah scored an unbeaten double century, setting the record highest score for an Afghanistan cricketer on day 3 against Zimbabwe at Bulawayo.

Rahmat (231 not out) led Afghanistan to 425/2 as he surpassed the previous record by skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi of 200 not out against Zimbabwe in Abu Dhabi way back in 2021.

Shahidi shone with a polished 141 not out. The pair batted all day to post a partnership of 361.

Afghanistan 425 for 2 (Rahmat 231*, Shahidi 141*) trail Zimbabwe 586 by 161 runs.
