Ervine edges Zimbabwe ahead of Afghanistan: 2nd Test, Day 2 (Bulawayo)

39 year old skipper Craig Ervine top-scored with 75, leading Zimbabwe to a narrow lead over Afghanistan on day 2 at Bulawayo.

Zimbabwe was dismissed for 243, giving it an 86-run advantage over Afghanistan. Ervine featured in two solid partnerships with Sikandar (61) and Sean Williams, who made 49.

Paceman Blessing Muzarabani removed openers Abdul Malik and debutant Riaz Hassan cheaply in the last session to before captain Hashmatullah Shahidi was clean bowled by Sikandar Raza for 13 runs. At stumps, Afghanistan were struggling at 46-3.

Afghanistan 157 and 46 for 3 (Rahmat 18*, Muzarabani 2-17) trail Zimbabwe 243 (Ervine 75, Raza 61, Williams 49, Rashid 4-94) by 40 runs.
