Boland six routs India, Aussies seal series win: 5th Test, Day 3 (SCG)

Scott Boland took a match bag of 10 wickets as Australia ended their 10-year drought to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in the afternoon session on Day 3 at SCG.

Chasing 162, Australia slumped to 102-4. Debutant Beau Webster completed the chase with a boundary off Washington Sundar to finish on 39 not out. He and Head (34 not out) put on 58 to secure the series win 3-1.

Earlier, Boland took 6-45 as Australia cleaned up the India tail, dismissing the tourists for 157.

The player of the match was Scott Boland, who bowled masterfully and finished with match figures of 36.5-13-76-10.

Australia 181 (Webster 57, Prasidh 3-42, Siraj 3-51) and 162 for 4 (Khawaja 41, Webster 39*, Head 34*, Prasidh 3-65) beat India 185 (Pant 40, Boland 4-31, Starc 3-49) and 157 (Pant 61, Boland 6-45, Cummins 3-44) by six wickets.
