Chandimal defies Australia before rain spoils: 1st Test, Day 3 (Galle)

Veteran Dinesh Chandimal ground out a defiant fifty as Australia continued their dominance of the hosts with two key wickets before lunch to reduce them to 136 for five at Galle.

Rain played a major role in washing out the last two sessions, with only 27 overs were bowled.

Sri Lanka 136 for 5 (Chandimal 63*, de Silva 22, Starc 2-13, Kuhnemann 2-48) trail Australia 654 for 6 dec by 518 runs.
