Carey, Smith centuries pound Sri Lanka: 2nd Test, Day 2 (Galle)

Skipper Steve Smith and wicket keeper Alex Carey rescued Australia and dominated Sri Lanka with a mammoth double century stand on day 2 at Galle.

Australia were in trouble at 91-3 and the match was in the balance before the 239-run partnership for the 4th wicket.

Carey posted his second Test century and helped the visitors to 330-3, 73 ahead of Sri Lanka. Smith finished on 120 and Carey 139 off just 156 balls.

Australia 330 for 3 (Carey 139*, Smith 120*) lead Sri Lanka 257 (Kusal 85, Chandimal 74, Starc 3-37, Kuhnemann 3-63, Lyon 3-96) by 73 runs.
