Bennett powers narrow win over Bangladesh: 1st Test, Day 4 (Sylhet)

Brian Bennett stroked a fifty as Zimbabwe sealed a historic win against Bangladesh in Sylhet.

Bennett (54) and Ben Curran (44) posted 95 for the opening wicket. Zimbabwe stumbled in the middle but successfully chased down the target to secure a 1-0 lead in the series.

The win also marks Zimbabwe's first Test win in over four years, with the last one coming against Afghanistan in Abu Dhabi in March 2021.

Zimbabwe 273 (Williams 59, Bennett 57, Mehidy 5-52, Rana 3-74) and 174 for 7 (Bennett 54, Curran 44, Mehidy 5-50) beat Bangladesh 191 (Mominul 56, Shanto 40, Masakadza 3-21, Muzarabani 3-50) and 255 (Shanto 60, Jaker 58, Muzarabani 6-72) by three wickets.
