Smith, Buttler shine as England thump Windies in 3-0 rout: 3rd ODI (Oval)

Jamie Smith’s maiden fifty and Jos Buttler’s rapid 41 not out sunk the West Indies as England won the series 3-0 at the Oval.

Smith smashed 64 from just 28 balls as England reached 100 after just eight overs. Ben Duckett hit 58 and Joe Root 44 as England chased down a revised target with 62 balls remaining.

Earlier, the West Indies slumped to 28-3 before the rain and 154-7 soon after. They eventually racked up 251-9 thanks to Sherfane Rutherford’s 70 and Motie’s 63.

England 246 for 3 (Smith 64, Duckett 58, Root 44, Buttler 41*) beat West Indies 251 for 9 (Rutherford 70, Motie 63, Rashid 3-40) by seven wickets (via DLS method).
