Fighting Asalanka ton and Bangla collapse hands win to SL: 1st ODI (RPS)

Charith Asalanka scored a brilliant century as Sri Lanka crushed Bangladesh by 77 runs in the opening ODI in Colombo.

The Sri Lankans managed 244 thanks to Asalanka’s 106. Bangladesh’s bowlers, led by Taskin Ahmed (4-47), put up a disciplined performance to restrict Sri Lanka.

In response, Bangladesh were 100/1 at one stage before they crumbled for 167. Hasaranga (4-10) and Kamindu Mendis (3-19) did the damage.

Sri Lanka 244 (Asalanka 106, Mendis 45, Taskin 4-47, Tanzim 3-46) beat Bangladesh 167 (Tanzid 62, Jaker 51, Hasaranga 4-10, Kamindu 3-19) by 77 runs.
