Windies fightback after Kuldeep spins them out in first innings: 2nd Test, Day 3 (Delhi)

Left arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav took five wickets as India tightened their grip on the second Test against the West Indies at Visakhapatnam on Day 3.

India enforced the follow-on after bowling out the visitors for 248 in reply to their massive first-innings total of 518 for 5 declared. Kuldeep starred with the ball, claiming 5 for 82, while Ravindra Jadeja took 3 for 46 as India’s spinners dismantled the West Indian batting.

Forced to bat again, the visitors showed better resistance in their second innings, reaching 173 for 2 at stumps. John Campbell (87*) and Shai Hope (66*) steadied the innings with an unbroken 138-run stand after early wickets fell cheaply.

Despite their late fightback, West Indies still trail by 97 runs and face a tough task to avoid defeat, with India firmly in command heading into Day 4.

West Indies 248 (Athanaze 41, Kuldeep 5-82) and 173 for 2 (f/o) (Campbell 87, Hope 66) trail India 518 for 5 dec (Jaiswal 175, Gill 129*, Sai Sudharsan 87, Warrican 3-98) by 97 runs.
