All spin Windies pip Bangladesh after Akeal Super Over: 2nd ODI (Mirpur)

The 2nd ODI between Bangladesh and West Indies in Dhaka produced a thrilling finish, ending in a tie before West Indies clinched victory in the Super Over bowled by spinner Akeal Hosein.

Bangladesh, after winning the toss, posted 213 for 7 thanks to a late flourish from Rishad Hossain, who smashed 39 not out off just 14 balls. In reply, West Indies matched the total exactly, finishing on 213 for 9, with captain Shai Hope anchoring the innings with a composed half-century.

The game then went to a Super Over, where the visitors held their nerve to level the series 1-1.

Remarkably, West Indies made history by using only spin bowlers for all 50 overs — a first in ODI cricket — showcasing both tactical ingenuity and confidence in their spin attack.

West Indies 213 for 9 (Hope 53, Carty 35, Rishad 3-42) tied with Bangladesh 213 for 7 (Sarkar 45, Rishad 39*, Motie 3-65) West Indies won the Super Over.
