Pakistan continued their strong start to the 2026 T20 World Cup with a 32-run win over the USA in their group A clash at Colombo.
Batting first, Pakistan posted a competitive 190/9, built around a fluent 73 off 41 balls by Sahibzada Farhan, while Babar Azam’s 46 provided stability at the top. The USA bowlers fought back late, with Shadley van Schalkwyk’s 4/25 preventing the total from climbing even higher.
Chasing 191, the USA finished on 158/8, showing intent but falling behind the required rate in the middle overs. Shubham Ranjane (51) and Shayan Jahangir (49) kept hopes alive briefly, but Pakistan’s spinners tightened the screws, led by Usman Tariq (3/27) and Shadab Khan (2/26).
The result keeps Pakistan firmly in control of their group campaign, while the USA will look to bounce back in their remaining fixtures.
Pakistan 190 for 9 (Farhan 73, Babar 46, Shadab 30, van Schalkwyk 4-25) beat USA 158 for 8 (Ranjane 51, Jahangir 49, Tariq 3-27, Shadab 2-26) by 32 runs.
