Raza blitz in vain as South Africa beat Zimbabwe: T20 World Cup S8 No 51 (Delhi)

Zimbabwe posted 153/7 in 20 overs, built around a superb 73 off 43 balls from Sikandar Raza, who carried the innings through the middle overs. Clive Madande added an unbeaten 26 late on, but regular wickets stalled momentum. For South Africa, Kwena Maphaka’s 2/21 helped restrict Zimbabwe to a competitive but chaseable total.

In reply, South Africa reached 154/5 in 17.5 overs to win by five wickets with 13 balls to spare. Dewald Brevis struck a rapid 42 off 18, Ryan Rickelton contributed 31, and George Linde finished unbeaten on 30, guiding the chase calmly. Raza capped a fine all-round effort with 3/29, but South Africa’s depth ensured a composed and timely victory.

South Africa 154 for 5 (Brevis 42, Rickelton 31, Raza 3-29) beat Zimbabwe 153 for 7 (Raza 73, Maphaka 2-21) by five wickets.
