Samson, Bumrah inspire India to crushing win over NZ to claim crown: T20 World Cup Final ...

India delivered a commanding performance to defeat New Zealand by 96 runs in the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Batting first, India piled up a massive 255/5 in 20 overs, with Sanju Samson hammering 89 off 46 balls and Ishan Kishan blasting 54 off 25 to set the tone. India’s middle order maintained the momentum throughout, turning a strong platform into one of the highest totals ever in a T20 World Cup final.

New Zealand faced an enormous task chasing 256, and early wickets quickly put them on the back foot. Despite brief resistance from Siefert (52), the pressure of the required rate kept mounting as India’s bowlers attacked relentlessly and denied any meaningful partnerships.

The chase eventually folded for 159 in 19 overs, sealing a dominant Indian victory. Jasprit Bumrah led the attack with a brilliant 4/15, while Axar Patel claimed 3/27, dismantling the Black Caps’ batting line-up.

The emphatic win crowned India world champions and capped a tournament defined by their explosive batting and disciplined bowling.

India 255 for 5 (Samson 89, Kishan 54, Abhishek 52, Neesham 3-46) beat New Zealand 159 (Seifert 52, Santner 43, Bumrah 4-15, Axar 3-27) by 96 runs.
