Esterhuizen, Subrayen help Proteas level series against NZ: 4th T20 (Wellington)

New Zealand missed the chance to seal the 5 match series, losing the 4th T20I to South Africa by 19 runs at Hnry Stadium in Wellington.

The Black Caps did well with the ball to restrict South Africa to 164/5 (20 overs), with Kyle Jamieson (2/29) leading the effort and Ben Sears delivering a tight final over. Connor Esterhuizen top-scored with 57 off 36 balls, anchoring the Proteas innings.

In reply, New Zealand started brightly but couldn’t maintain momentum, losing wickets at regular intervals under disciplined South African bowling. Prenelan Subrayen (2-13) swung the match with 2 quick strikes. They were eventually bowled out for 145 (19.3 overs), falling short in the chase as the series was levelled 2–2 heading into the decider.

South Africa 164 for 5 (Esterhuizen 57, Jamieson 2-29) beat New Zealand 145 (Robinson 32, Coetzee 3-31, Subrayen 2-13, Maharaj 2-22, Baartman 2-30) by 19 runs.
