India in last gasp win after Tilak Varma blasts Kiwis: 2nd T20 (Christchurch)

Tilak Varma delivered a remarkable rescue act as India beat New Zealand by four wickets in the second T20I in the last over at Hagley Oval.

Varma led the successful run chase with an unbeaten 51, while Naman Dhir contributed 31 to help India recover from a challenging position. New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner was outstanding with the ball, claiming 4 for 21, but his efforts were not enough to prevent India from crossing the finish line.

New Zealand posted 180 for 5, powered by Glenn Phillips’ 70 and Bevon Jacobs’ 58. Arshdeep Singh claimed two wickets for India, helping restrict the hosts to a competitive total. However, India’s batting depth again proved decisive under pressure, securing a second consecutive victory and strengthening their grip on the five-match series with a 2–0 lead.

India 181 for 6 (Tilak 51*, Dhir 31, Santner 4-21) beat New Zealand 180 for 5 (Phillips 70, Jacobs 58, Arshdeep 2-33) by four wickets.
