Southee skittles Aussies, Kiwis on top: 1st Test, Day 1 (Gabba)

Australia were tottering at 33-2 at one stage after teenager Tim Southee bowled an inspired spell at the start of play he finished with 4-63.

Michael Clarke (98) was last man out as he saved Australia from total collapse as they were dismissed for 214.

New Zealand batted carefully for 5 overs to reach 7-0 in reply and surprisingly in control of the match.
