India sieze control despite Strauss century: 1st Test, Day 1 (Chennai)

England collapsed from 1641 to 2295 in the last session as India fought back to take control.

Earlier England made a steady start as they reached 164 for 1 at tea. Andrew Strauss 123 and Alistair Cook led the way with a firstwicket stand of 118. Cook fell for 52 whilst sweeping Harbhajan.

Andrew Flintoff was unbeaten on 18 off 64 balls at stumps.
