2007 T20 Final: India win first cup

India beat arch rivals Pakistan by five runs in a thrilling contest to win the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup.

Gautam Gambhir's fluent 75 at the top and some late hitting from Rohit Sharma got India to 157-5—a total considered well below par at the high-scoring venue in Johannesburg.

In reply, Imran Nazir smashed Sreesanth around the Wanderers but the wickets of Mohammad Hafeez and Kamran Akmal set Pakistan on its heels. Misbah brutal kick provided hope until they just fell short leaving India as the first ever winners of the T20 Cup.
