Kallis engineers recovery: 3rd Test, D1 (Cape Town)

Jacques Kallis (81 not out) hit his 55th Test half-century to guide South Africa to 4-232 after India inserted them in difficult batting conditions.

Kallis shared half-century partnerships with Hashim Amla (59) and AB de Villiers (26), and an unbeaten stand of 68 with Ashwell Prince (28 not out) after being 34-2.

Sreesanth took 2-70 on an opening day when play was twice interrupted by rain.
