Opening batsman Gautam Gambhir guided India to safety with a cautious innings of 64 as the final ended in a draw when play was called off eight overs early.

India were on 166-3 after being set 340 to win.

"We're happy with our performance," said Dhoni. "Jacques was an inspiration to all of us in the dressing room," said Graeme Smith after Kallis was named man of the series.
