Matara Mauler: Jayasuriya slams fastest ton in England (2002)

Skipper Sanath Jayasuriya smashed 112 off 87 balls and re-wrote the record books in the process.

He surpassed Clive Lloyd's previous fastest ODI hundred in England (during the 1975 World Cup Final)  as Sri Lanka made 240-7 in a rain shortened 32 overs.

England over-ran the Sri Lankan score later to win by 3 wickets, with 4 balls to spare. Jayasuriya had the rare consolation of being named man of the match despite being on the losing team.
