Aussies panic: Injured Kapil bowls India to win (MCG 1981)

After a seesawing test match India routed Australia in the second innings for a famous win.

The final day belonged to Kapil Dev who braved injury and dealt telling blows and did not stop till the hosts were bundled out for 83 leaving India triumphant by 59 runs.

Kapil Dev who had taken painkilling injections bowled unchanged and took five of the seven wickets that Australia lost on the final day.

His figures 16.4 overs 4 maidens 5 wicket for 28 told their own story.

It was one of the greatest comefrombehind Test victories against a very powerful team.

Gundappa Viswanath was adjudged Man of the Match for rescuing India with a fine century.
