Match fixing: Chris Cairns takes legal action against Lalit Modi

Former New Zealand all-rounder Chris Cairns has finally acted on his threat to sue Lalit Modi and has initiated legal action against the suspended IPL commissioner.

The move may potentially backfire on Cairns after he finally took Modi to court in the UK - only to find many telling items of evidence against him in court, including the ICL anti-corruption officer Howard Beer stating he "had no doubts" that Cairns fixed matches.

Cairns was claiming damages over Modi's 2010 Twitter posting that claimed Cairns was axed from the Indian Cricket League when he was captain of the Chandigarh Lions for match fixing in 2008. Will the judge find this evidence against Cairns reliable?
