Franklin stars in stunning 1 wicket win over South Africa: 1st ODI (Paarl)

A superb knock of 47 not out from James Franklin helped NZ pull off an upset win over South Africa.

Sent in after losing the toss, South Africa were below par and it needed some good batting from Faf du Plessis (57) and some late order hitting from Rory Kleinveldt (26 from 20) to help them reach 208 all out. NZ lost regular wickets as BJ Watling (45) kept them in the hunt until they stumbled to 140 for eight in the 33rd over. Franklin then combined with Kyle Mills (26) and last man McClennaghan to guide New Zealand to an unlikely victory.

New Zealand 209 for 9 (Franklin 47*, Watling 45, McLaren 4-46) beat South Africa 208 (du Plessis 57, McClenaghan 4-20, Williamson 4-22) by one wicket,
