Spot fixing crisis: Was Srinivasan tricked during heated BCCI meeting?

In an extraordinary situation of affairs, embattled BCCI president N Srinivasan had said that he will relieve himself from his duties until September 30, during which time Jagmohan Dalmiya will take over as the interim chief.

Reports are emerging that getting Srinivasan to step aside was just a ploy to bypass him as he had been adamant of staying on for the past week.

As there is little hope of the CSK CEO Meiyappan's investigation into match fixing being concluded soon, it is hard to see how Srinivasan can resume his role this side of Sept when the next BCCI elections are due.
