Hafeez and Junaid put away Lankans: 1st ODI (Sharjah)

Pakistan survived a late scare from Sri Lanka to pull off an exciting 11-run win to go 1-0 up in 5 match series.

Sri Lanka were struggling at 221-7, but Sachithra Senanayake (42) and Seekkuge Prasanna (42) dragged them back into the contest with a record 87-run partnership for the eighth wicket. Earlier, an impressive 122 from under pressure T20 captain Mohammad Hafeez saw Pakistan post a total of 322-5.

Pakistan 322 for 5 (Hafeez 122, Maqsood 73, Sharjeel 61) beat Sri Lanka 311 (Kusal 64, Junaid 3-44) by 11 runs.
