Supreme Court slaps down BCCI, invites Mudgal for match fixing probe

In another major blow to sidelined chief Srinivasan, the Indian Supreme Court has invited the Justice Mukul Mudgal committee to further investigate the Indian Premier League spot-fixing matter. Earlier the Supreme Court had weakened Srinivasan’s iron grip on the BCCI as it rejected their offer to setup a 3-person probe team. The board had proposed former Calcutta High Court Chief Justice J.N. Patel (brother in law of current BCCI VP Yadav), former CBI Director, R.K. Raghavan and former cricketer Ravi Shastri who is a paid employee of the BCCI - they were seen as conflicted by the Supreme Court. Apr 2014
