Stirling shines as Ireland stun West Indies: 2015 WC #5 (Hamilton)

In a major upset, minnows Ireland won their opening match, defeating the West Indies by four wickets as Paul Stirling made 92, then Ed Joyce took up the chase and made 84 to take them home with almost 5 overs to spare.

Earlier, The West Indies, put into bat, recovered from 87-5 with a 154-run partnership for the sixth wicket between Lendl Simmons (102) and Darren Sammy (89) the highlight.

Ireland 307 for 6 (Stirling 92, Joyce 84, N O'Brien 79*) beat West Indies 304 for 7 (Simmons 102, Sammy 89, Dockrell 3-50) by 4 wickets .
