Latham gets ton as NZ push for win: 1st Test, Day 4 (Dunedin)

Opener Tom Latham was left on 109 not out having scored his first test century in New Zealand as the home team were 7 wickets from victory following a surprise declaration.

The visitors, who batted for 117 overs in their first innings, had been given 160 overs to score the 405 needed for an improbable victory - they closed at 190-3.

Sri Lanka 294 (Karunaratne 84, Chandimal 83) and 109 for 3 need 296 runs to beat New Zealand 431 (Guptill 156, Williamson 88, McCullum 75, Pradeep 4-112) and 267 for 3 dec (Latham 109*, Williamson 71).
