Mendis steadies Sri Lanka after Starc five: 2nd Test, Day 1 (Galle)

In form Kusal Mendis hit a sparkling 86 to steady Sri Lanka as they were bowled out for 281 midway through the third session. Mitch Starc took his 100th Test wicket whilst taking 5-44.

In reply, David Warner (42 in 41 balls) was spun out in the last over as Australia reached 54-2.

Australia 54 for 2 (Khawaja 11*) trail Sri Lanka 281 (Mendis 86, Mathews 54, Starc 5-44) by 227 runs.
