Aussies set massive 490, Pak show fight: 1st Test, Day 3 (Gabba)

Pakistan were defiant under lights chasing a victory target of 490 that was set up by Steve Smith's dinner-time declaration.

Opener Azhar Ali (41 not out) and veteran Younis Khan (0 not out) guided Pakistan to 70-2 at stumps.

Earlier, Steve Smith (63) and Usman Khawaja (74) added 111 for the third wicket t0 take Australia to 202-5 before the declaration.

Pakistan 142 (Sarfraz 59*, Hazlewood 3-22, Bird 3-23, Starc 3-63) and 2 for 70 (Azhar 41*) need 420 runs to beat Australia 429 and 5 for 202 dec (Khawaja 74, Smith 63).
