SL lose 16 wickets as Parnell seals series whitewash: 3rd Test, Day 3 (J'borg)

Wayne Parnell took 4-51 as South Africa wrapped up a 3-0 Test series whitewash after thrashing Sri Lanka by an innings and 118 runs.

Sri Lanka lost 16 wickets in the day after they began on 80-4. Sri Lanka were skittled for 131 before lunch and asked to follow on. Only opener Dimuth Karunaratne (50) providing any resistance as they crumbled for 177.

South Africa 426 (Duminy 155, Amla 134, Pradeep 4-78, Kumara 4-107) beat Sri Lanka 131 (Philander 3-28, Rabada 3-44) and 177 (Karunaratne 50, Parnell 4-51, Olivier 3-38) by an innings and 118 runs.
