de Kock, AB inspire last gasp win: 1st ODI (Hamilton)

Skipper AB de Villiers and all rounder Andile Phehlukwayo blasted South Africa to a thrilling win in the opening ODI against New Zealand with a ball to spare.

Opener Quinton de Kock had smashed 69 to lay a solid platform as the Proteas chased the Kiwi's 207. Earlier, a power packed 51-run stand off just 23 balls between Colin de Grandhomme and Southee got the Kiwis to respectability in the rain shortened 34 overs match.

South Africa 210 for 6 (de Kock 69, de Villiers 37*, Santner 1-33, Sodhi 1-36) beat New Zealand 207 for 7 (Williamson 59, Morris 4 for 62) by four wickets.
