Stokes century knocks out Aussies: 2017 CT ENG v AUS (Birmingham)

Australia were knocked out of the Champions Trophy after England were propelled by a blistering century from Ben Stokes.

Stokes slammed 102 not out off 108 balls as England cruised to a thumping 40-run win over Australia under the Duckworth-Lewis method.

Earlier, Australia's fast start was derailed by Wood (4-33) and Rashid (4-41). Travis Head smashed a brilliant rear-guard innings 71no from 64 balls to save Australia after they lost 5-15 in less than five overs late in their innings.

England were already through to the semi-finals but defeat eliminated the Aussies from the competition.

England 240 for 4 (Stokes 102*, Morgan 87) beat Australia 277 for 9 (Head 71, Finch 68, Smith 56, Wood 4-33, Rashid 4-41) by 40 runs (DLS method).
